A big birthday
Sixty on a hilltop with the whole family in three villas, dinner for everyone on the terrace, and the sunset doing the candles. The birthday person gets the Pool Villa; the grandchildren get the bunk room in the House and the cinema in the Pool Villa.
An anniversary, or a renewal
The Sunset Suite has the best sunset on the property and the only perfect rating. For a vow renewal, the pool terrace holds the ceremony and the beach across the road holds the photographs.
A reunion
Cousins from three countries, one hill, nobody else. Everyone has their own front door and everyone shares the pool. We do the airport runs from Trang and Krabi so the arrivals sort themselves out.
A small wedding
Twelve at the grand table, the rest on the terrace, the ceremony by the infinity edge, a covered terrace if the sky turns, and the couple in the Pool Villa afterwards. Music until ten. We work with Krabi planners or your own.
A honeymoon, or the babymoon
The Pool Villa 240° is the room our guests rate 4.92, and it is a private house, not a hotel. Chef breakfasts by the pool, a longtail to Koh Kradan, and the afternoon breeze the hill is known for.
The three-generation holiday
Grandparents in the Suite (one level, no stairs), parents in the Pool Villa, teenagers in the House. Cots, high chairs and window guards are already here; so are the PS4 and the table tennis.
What the hill does well
It closes. When one group takes the whole hill — three villas, the pool, the helipad and the grounds — nobody else is here, nobody overlooks any part of it, and staff come only at the times you agree. That is what makes a family occasion feel like a family occasion rather than a hotel event with strangers at the next table.
It also has the details that a celebration needs and a listing never mentions: a grand table for twelve, two full kitchens and an outdoor kitchen with a barbecue, a chef who does breakfasts, a sunset dinner and a Thai cooking class, a movie theatre for the children on a wet afternoon, a fenced garden, and a beach across the road for the group photograph.
And it is one of the coolest places in Thailand, literally. The hill sits in a constant breeze and runs 2–3 °C cooler than the towns below; every afternoon the sea breeze arrives to take the edge off the sun. Grandparents notice.
How we help
- The dinner. Our chef cooks on the terrace — southern Thai seafood, a barbecue, or a halal menu — and a cake is a phone call away in Sikao.
- The photographs. A Trang photographer for the golden hour on the beach and the pool edge; ask and we book them.
- The day out. A private longtail to Koh Kradan, Koh Mook and the Emerald Cave for the whole party, October to July (the islands close for the monsoon from August to September).
- The logistics. Airport pickups from Trang (50 minutes) and Krabi (1 hour 15), a driver for the stay, massage in the villa.
- The quiet. Music until 10 pm, then the cicadas. We say this up front so everyone sleeps.
Which villa for which occasion
A couple: the Sunset Suite or the Pool Villa 240°. A family of up to twelve: the Pool Villa. Ten to sixteen, with children: the Sunny Hill House. Up to twenty-four, or anyone who wants the hill to themselves: the Private Estate, which is all three villas together and closes the hill to your group alone. Book direct and airport transfers, a welcome massage and a sunset dinner are included.
Celebration questions
How many people can celebrate here?
Nineteen sleep in fixed beds across the hill, and up to twenty-four with folding and sofa beds. The grand table seats twelve; a bigger party dines on the terrace. Every bedroom has a brand-new Slumberland Royal Luxury mattress. For a larger day-guest party, ask — the terraces hold more than the beds do.
Can you do a wedding?
A small one, well. The ceremony by the infinity edge, dinner for up to 24, a covered terrace as the wet-weather plan, and the beach across the road for photographs. We work happily with Krabi wedding planners or your own. Music finishes at 10 pm.
Do you provide the cake, flowers and a photographer?
We arrange them through people we use in Sikao and Trang — a cake, simple flowers and a golden-hour photographer are all a message away. Tell us the occasion when you book and we will quote what you need.
Is the whole hill really private?
Yes. An Estate booking closes the property to your group: no other guests, no neighbours overlooking any pool or terrace, cameras that face outward only, and staff who come at the times you agree. Detail at privacy and seclusion.
What about grandparents and small children?
The Sunset Suite is on one level with no stairs. We have cots, a travel cot, high chairs, children’s dinnerware, a changing table, window guards and outlet covers, and a fenced garden. Tell us the children’s ages and we will advise on the pool.
Which months are best?
October to April for the calmest seas and island days; July and August are warm and lively; October and November are the quiet, green version of the coast with the islands reopening on 1 October and our best rates. The hill itself is comfortable all year because of the breeze.
